APECS and Weblink Down Due to Heat again

The computer room got warmer by a couple of degrees resulting in the mainframe going down again. We will wait for the air to be functioning completely and restart the system them. Sorry for the inconvenience. ITS Department.

APECS and Weblink are available 5:14 PM 8/28/08

Apecs and Weblink are now available. The machine room is still very warm. The air conditioning is expected to be fully restored within the hour. However, it is possible that the system may go down again if the room gets too warm before then. ITS Dept.

Mainframe Down due to Air Conditioning Problem

The air conditioning unit in the computer room has a compressor problem. Without air conditioning, the mainframe computer must be shut down. This means that APECS and WEBLINK will be down until the the air conditioning unit has been fixed. Repairs have been started.

E-Mail Sending Problem

We have discovered that our outgoing e-mail is being blacklisted by a certain organization that filters e-mail for some of the major companies (i.e. Dell, CDWG).  We are working to clear our good name and restore email communications to these areas.

 

If you send to someone using this filtering service, you will get a rejection statement.  We are told that should automatically clear in 6 hours.

Internet Speed Issue Resolved

An internal computer operated by an on-campus third party contractor was the culprit in taking the Internet down. The computer has been permanently banned from the network and all Internet services appear to be operating as they should.

EZ Exam is not fully functional

Authoring in Ezexam is not working.
Ezexam administration appears to be working fine.

We believe the problems are due to recently installed Microsoft Windows Updates that were applied to the server. We are removing the updates one by one to identify which one(s) are impacting Ezexam.

On-site Work for CHP/LR and Voice-Mail

Repair work will start at 6:00 am Friday morning.

 

CHP/LR and Voice-Mail Down

It’s been almost 24 hours since the break in the connection to the CHP, Lansing Reilly and Voice-Mail system.  Yesterday, contractors were lined up with the proper testing equipment to determine the extent of the breakage in the tunnel.  Access to this space is restricted due to concrete work taking place in the same location.  The first opportunity for on-site access for repairs is Friday morning.  Repairs and testing will take a few hours.  Please stay tuned for more information.

CHP/Lansing Reilly and Voice-Mail Down

Due to complications related to external construction work, network connectivity to the Lansing Reilly building and the CHP building is presently down.

 

All dial-by-name and voice-mail service is also down since the AT&T equipment is located on the segment of the network where the current problem exists.

 

The repair work is fairly extensive and we hope to have it completed by Friday.

 

 

CHP and Lansing Reilly network down

The College of Health Professions Bilding and Lansing Reilly are not able to reach Titannet or the network in general. It could be related to the digging and construction on campus. We are urgently looking into this. It does appear to be related to the voice-mail and telephone problems that much of McNichols campus is experiencing right now.

We have no estimated time for resolution for this as we are still assessing the problem.

Voicemail Aug 6 '08

Voicemail has gone down about 11:00am due to a technical problem. We are working to correct the issue. We will notify when the problem has been resolved.
