Blackboard upgrade scheduled for Tuesday December 20 starting at 7:30 a.m. * Advance notice



We plan to upgrade Blackboard software. This action is scheduled for Tuesday, December 20, starting at 7:30 a.m. with anticipated 2 hours outage of service. Upgrade of the software includes number of changes and fixes for issues detected.

Please don’t plan on using Blackboard on December 20 between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. If you are using Blackboard, please finish your work and log out before 7:30 a.m. to avoid possible loss of data. Production ODS maintenance scheduled

The current production ODS reporting database will be undergoing an upgrade starting 11/03/16 beginning at 5pm. The database will be unavailable till 11/7/16 8am. Please check the blog for any status checks and announcement of when the database will be back online.

11/7/16 - Due to issues with the upgrades to ODS, Access will not be available at 8am. Please check the blog for future announcements.

Phone System - Reboot - Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 5:00 am

Please be advised ITS will be rebooting the phone system affecting the McNichols and Corktown campuses sometime between 5:00 am and 6:00 am on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 during our standard ITS maintenance window. 

 

During this period of time, we expect the phone system to be offline for 20 minutes or less.

 

At this early morning hour, the impact to our community should be minimal.

Maintenance has been completed.  All services have been restored.

Reminder - Computer Systems Maintenance - Saturday, October 8, 2016 starting at 6:00 AM

Please be advised the Information Technology Services department will be performing required maintenance on a number of core servers starting Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 6:00 A.M. and running to 12:00 P.M as communicated earlier this week.

 

 

The systems that will be unavailable during this time include…

 

·         TitanConnect – Portal

·         TitanConnect – Self Service

·         TitanConnect – INB

·         TitanConenct – ODS/Discoverer

 

 

During this outage…

 

·         Office 365 email will remain available by logging into the http://portal.udmercy.edu site

·         Blackboard (aka Knowledge) will remain available by logging into the http://knowledge.udmercy.edu site

·         www.udmercy.edu and all other websites will remain online

·         University WIFI services will be remain available

·         Residence Hall wired and WIFI services will remain available

 

 

All other systems will remain available.

 

 

Updates will be provided on the ITS Outage blog located at http://udm-its.blogspot.com.

Law Internet issues

Due to the heavy rains, the Law campus users may experience interment outages to all service at McNichols.

All offices at Law school may experience interment internet (Non UDM services).

Wireless users internet (Non UDM services) access is currently unaffected.

Blackboard available at 3:40 p.m.; service action to follow



Blackboard software upgrade is finished at this time. Certain issues are discovered, unfortunately, and we are expecting help from Blackboard Tech Support to resolve these issues. If you notice irregularities while using Blackboard, please report those to IDS or submit Help Desk ticket.

Continue checking this blog, fixing discovered problems in new software will most likely require restart of the Blackboard system with outage in service which will be announced here.

Blackboard software upgrade: Wed. Aug. 17 at 7:00 a.m.

Major software upgrade on our Blackboard system is due. This action is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17.Blackboard system is going to be taken down with plan to return online and become available on Thursday, August 18, at 9:00 a.m.

If you plan to use Blackboard system in this time, please observe the following:

Please close your session and log out before 7:00 on Wednesday; you risk loss of data and your work otherwise.

Please check this blog for status of the work on system upgrade. This blog will reflect possible changes in status of this work and announce availability of the Blackboard system.

This upgrade is consisting of several phases and if the system appears to be online, that does not necessarily mean that work is finished. Interruption in service may resume at any time and it won’t be specifically announced. Please check this blog to make sure that system is available before you start using Blackboard again.

Users won’t notice changes in the way Blackboard works. If you experience problems after the system upgrade, please report these in usual way (contact IDS, open help desk ticket).
