Is there a reason why this seems to be a continuous problem? Do we need better servers or something? It would be nice to get this problem fixed once and it not happen on a weekly basis...
Several changes are in the works to accomodate the emergency response system as well as to plan to move to the new e-mail solution. These, in conjunction with some spam issues, have been the source of the problems. We're hoping with each resolution to stablize the problems.
Would it be possible to get an update on this problem? I know that I am not getting some email messages, because I am sending messages to students through my TWEN page, with copies to my school email account, but I am not receiving them. Thank you.
An update would be welcome. Email used to be the reliable way to communicate since the voice mail had so many glitches. Is it going to get better--soon?
I'm not sure if it ever came up to be honest. I didn't get any emails that would have been qued over the weekend while it was down and I haven't received any incoming emails since yesterday morning. I wouldn't mind so much if we received some type of communication, updates, or answers to questions posted on this blog...
It would seem to me that a university that can be a host institution for the NCAA Sweet 16 and Elite 8, and future Final 4, we could do a little better than have an email system that continually seems to be nonfunctional, an online registration system that is only open some 15 hours a day, and a law school that pipes its internet connection from the McNichols Campus.
It's going on three days now--if it's not fixed, an update would be appreciated. Most of the anonymous comments are pointing out how ridiculous this situation is--there is this blog that you set up to get information out to people, and you have ignored it since the "Internet E-Mail Appears to be Down" posting early Sunday morning. Is a response too much to ask?

Thanks for the info that there are plans in the works to solve the continuous problems we seem to have with UDM e-mail. :)

Obviously communication isn't a priority and my definition of "temporary" is far different than the ITS Department's.
It appears to be down again. The only email I had in my inbox this morning was UDmercy emails. Perhaps message from outside aren't getting through?

Define temporary. I have alumni I am in contact with concerning the Slide Rule Dinner. This is a very bad time for a 'temp' problem with email.
You can't even get in to email now and pretend it is operational!
