this is simply ridicules every week there is an issue, then you guys post a message about maintenance on certain days and what'cha know just before the " maintenance " date the system goes down. the cost to attend is to high for someone to have to deal with these kinds of issues every other week or month. Do you really think my professor is going to say OK it's not your fault, heck's no. but now I have to post late ! thanks a lot Higher the Geek squad if you can't handle the job.

We would hope your professor would understand the risks of the use of any technology and have an alternative solution available when such issues arise. If you find they are penalizing you for such a situation, please appeal higher. No one wants students to suffer unfair consequences due to technical issues.

Can you please give an estimated time in which it will be up and running again?

We have been unable to resolve this using the steps provided by Blackboard in the past for this particular error and are working to get Blackboard Support (aka the Geek Squad per FeedUp) to work this issue through. It's likely going to take sometime into the morning but until they can assess, we can't say for sure. With an outage like this, there's no higher priority than to try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

If you feel you need to vent, vent away.

If you have faculty expecting submissions, please contact your faculty member and work with them on alternative methods for submission. Email addresses are located in the employee directory at: http://it.udmercy.edu/employee-directory/employees/index.html

Why is blackboard down once again? really? Please tell me when it will be up

UDM-ITS said...

Just an update that we are continuing to work with Blackboard to bring this up ASAP. No ETA at the moment.

It is down because there is a problem with the product.

BTW, the login screen has been taken down while we work through this issue.

going to cry because I won't get another extension on my assignments that I had already asked for an extension for until the 18th...

You should really follow up with your professor as others are doing for alternative methods of submission during this outage.

We have been on the phone with Blackboard support all morning and they are continuing to work the issue through.

Have there been any new updates?

Regrettably, after a full day of back and forth with support, no resolution yet but Blackboard is escalating this outage to the next tier up.

We continue to have serious issues with Blackboard support for the local install but are continuing to work this through into the evening to bring this back online as quickly as we can.

This issue has been resolved and Blackboard is functional once again.
