Voicemail to Email-Delay Resolved
Over the past several days there has been a delay between the delivery of voicemail messages into your email account for those who receive voicemail this way. ITS is working with the voicemail and email providers to rectify this situation and you will soon see messages popping into your email inbox. For those that do not subscribe to processing and cleansing their email inbox every day, there is a chance you may find voicemail messages buried in your inbox a few days back.

Services Down for Move to Cloud - July 22-28
As part of Detroit Mercy’s ongoing effort to modernize our IT infrastructure, many of Detroit Mercy’s on-premise systems will be moving to the cloud.
The following applications will be unavailable beginning Saturday, July 22 and will be back online the evening of Friday, July 28:
- Personal Profile and Self-Service links in https://my.udmercy.edu
- Parking Permit Systems
- Employee Directory
- Banner (Self-Service and AppNav)
- BDMS
- Argos
- Evisions
Email, Blackboard, the ID card system, and other services will remain active. However, data feeds that populate new information into these systems will not be running during the scheduled downtime.

One of our Internet Service Providers has reported technical issues that are impacting some of our internet connections on the McNichols, Novi and Corktown campuses. ITS is working with the ISP to resolve the issue quickly as possible.

McNichols Building Power Outages - Locally Hosted Services Affected
The Facilities department is working on electrical in all buildings on the McNichols campus today. At times various locally hosted services will be down including library services, University websites, Banner and others.
Email and Blackboard will remain online and available.
ITS will work to restore computer services as quickly as possible on this holiday.

Blackboard Steps to Resolve Connectivity Issues
At 3:15am Tuesday 4/25 Blackboard reported a global DNS issue, resulting from a security update. This issue resulted in some networks returning an error when attempting to access blackboard.udmercy.edu, while other networks had no interruption.
Blackboard implemented a fix to this issue at approximately 9:30am on 4/25. Unfortunately, DNS fixes require time to propagate across the internet; how much time depends on the refresh settings of the DNS server you are using. Most DNS servers should have restored access as of approximately 11:15 am on Wednesday 4/26.
If you are still unable to access Blackboard, we recommend you flush your DNS cache.
On WINDOWS:
1 - Hit the WINDOWS button on your keyboard, type COMMAND, launch the command prompt app.
2 - In the command prompt app (little black window) type --
ipconfig /flushdns
3 - Press ENTER. You should get a SUCCESS message.
4 - Close the Command window, restart your computer.
ON MAC
1- Open the LaunchPad in the Dock and type in Terminal in the search bar.
2 - Enter the following syntax at the command line:
sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
3 - Press Return, enter your password, and press Return again.
4 - Exit the Terminal, restart your computer
IF these steps do not work for you
Accessing Blackboard via a VPN will likely get you to Blackboard. Similarly, try accessing from a mobile device on a cellular network rather than local Wi-Fi -- folks have reported success switching to a cellular hotspot. Relocating to a local public library or other location with free Wi-Fi may help as well (we do not recommend using Wi-Fi from a place like Starbucks or Panera for online testing, as the connections there often reset at inopportune times).
We can also report that on-campus access has not experienced any downtime. If you can come to campus, the Wi-Fi and / or lab computers will work for you.

MCN WIFI Up - Internet Not Working
Although you may be able to successfully connect to the WIFI environment on the MCN campus this morning, the DNS services for it are temporarily down. ITS staff are working to restore service ASAP.
Residence Hall WIFI is fully functional at this time as are WIFI services on the Corktown, Riverfront and Novi campuses.
Wired connections are fine at this time.

Planned Network Outage - This Thursday 11:59 PM through Friday 4:00 AM
Please be advised this Thursday evening starting at 11:59 PM and running through Friday morning up to 4:00 AM, the University’s network will temporarily be down while our network contractors and in-house team re-route our main network connections from one building to another.
All off-campus access to internal resources will be down during this time including access to our WWW environment.
All On-campus access to outside services will be down including access to Blackboard, O365 and other hosted services.
Off-campus users will be able to access Blackboard, O365 and hosted services from offsite.
On-campus university phones and CATV services will remain available during this time.
