Due to a fire at the Cell tower that feeds the university Internet and cell service, on site connectivity, including wireless is down. ITS will provide updates as available. We anticipate this outage the last more than four hours. Employees should consult with their supervisor about work from home opportunities.

Splicers are onsite at the tower and while no ETA has been provided, we think they should have us back up in the next few hours.
At 10:00 AM this morning a fire at the cell tower just south of McNichols on Livernois took out the university’s connectivity to the internet and our Corktown, Riverfront and Novi campuses. Cell coverage on campus and throughout the neighborhood for some of the major carriers was out as well.
Repairs to the cell tower and the internet feed into campus were completed earlier this evening. Connections incoming and outgoing have tested successfully, and we are seeing traffic flow both ways.
In times like these, where it is difficult to communicate, please know an external outage blog located at: https://udm-its.blogspot.com is where updates are available.
At this time all systems, WIFI and interconnections between our campuses are up.
