Holiday Information - Major Upgrade starts 12/26/2010 at midnight

The TitanConnect system will be down from Sunday, December 26, 2010 until approximately Friday, December 31, 2010 to complete a major upgrade of TitanConnect Self-Service, TitanConnect INB and other modules within the TitanConnect portal solution. If the upgrade is completed earlier than Friday, December 31, 2010, the system will be made available at that time. During this time, the TitanConnect Portal, Email and Calendaring system will be available though there will be periods of time (possibly up to several hours) when these parts of the system will be unavailable. All incoming e-mail will be queued and then delivered once the TitanConnect Portal, E-mail and Calendaring system is back up. ITS will use the http://udm-its.blogspot.com outage blog to communicate details during this period of time. From Sunday, December 26, 2010 to approximately Friday, December 31, 2010 access to register for classes, submit admissions applications, review grades and all other features used within TitanConnect SSB and INB will be unavailable. Access to all other University IT services (WWW, Blackboard, blogs, helpdesk systems, etc.) will operate in auto-pilot mode. Should one of the auto-piloted systems go down, ITS will attempt to restore services when possible. Preliminary efforts are underway for the major upgrade. INB and SSB access are now down. The database will be brought down at 12:00 am.

While you are making these upgrades please change the way that email is set up. the view box to read the email is so narrow - less than one inch and the text is SO SMALL. It's really needs to be reformatted.

When will TC and INB be up? it is December 31.

TitanConnect portal(TC) has not been down during the Banner8 upgrade. It may need to be offline for reconfiguration after the Banner 8 upgrade is complete but is online currently.

When will TC Self Service be back up? I have been waiting all day to be able to access it.

Self-Service and INB will continue to be down for at least the next 24 hours while several fixes are made. We regret the delay in bringing it up but need this time to re-establish the critical services you are looking to use. Watch the blog for more details as the become available.

How can someone access their academic history then? I have a professional school application to submit by tomorrow and need to access this information.

Is there any type of back door system that is setup in order to view transcripts as they are needed to apply for professional schools. I planned on submitting them on break but this upgrade has been consuming all of break. This is getting pretty ridiculous! I would greatly appreciate a response!

The system is still not up. Can you please give a status update of when TitanConnect self service will be available? Or inform us of what is going on?

There are still a few technical issues that the upgrade team is working through with the vendor.

We still cannot provide and ETA but we can report that testing went well. Once these few remaining items are clear, it shouldn't be much longer.

I'm not aware of any back doors. You can try registrar@udmercy.edu to see if they can provide any additional input.

We apologize for the delay but be assured the staff working on this are very interested in returning to full service as quickly as possible. Teams have been working around the clock for several days and continue at it as we blog.

Please give us an update as to what is happening with the system. I have until midnight to submit this grad school application. I need my transcripts. How can we possibly pay as much as we do to go to school here and have all of our information held hostage?! I am begging for the self service system to be opened up, or even for someone to respond to my many comments/e-mails for a way for me to get a hold of my information today!

There is no way that the registrar will be e-mailing anyone at this hour!!!

So if ITS blames the users for every problem posted on this blog, who gets the blame when this "major" upgrade is still ongoing 2 days after the promised deadline?

Surely ITS wouldn't look in the mirror on this one...

this is so annoying. i have three jobs that i needed to submit my availibility into, and im still not able to give them that because i cannot access my school schedule! please fix this ASAP. its already TWO days over the deadline. We've been patient enough the whole week it was down.

Need to order books for the upcoming semester but impossible to do without a class schedule.... when will the information be available?

I think what this comment thread illustrates is that Christmas break is not an appropriate time for major upgrades to the Titan Connect system.

Banner 8 is here!!

The TitanConnect systems, both INB and Self Service have now been upgraded and are available for general use.

This includes applications for Admission.

This was a major untertaking, involving every module in the system. Over 60 upgrades were completed.
