User Impact: Users did not receive email notifications from SharePoint Online.
More info: Impact was specific to SharePoint alerts, workflow emails, and some legacy email alerts. Customers will not be able to re-run the SharePoint Online service notification emails that occurred during the impact period.
Final status: We've completed work rolling back the recent service update and have confirmed through telemetry that the service has returned to a healthy state.
Scope of impact: This issue could have affected any of your users who were set to receive alerts and email notifications for workflow items within SharePoint Online.
