Office Client Applications service alert Incident information Title: Errors opening apps ID: OP216023 Status Service Restored Details Title: Errors opening apps User Impact: Users may have experienced errors when attempting to open any Microsoft 365 app. More info: When attempting to open Microsoft 365 apps, a user would have seen an error similar to this message: 'Windows cannot find "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\office16\winword.exe" Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." Additional information regarding the specific versions of Windows 10 that were affected can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4557957/windows-10-update-kb4557957 Final status: We've determined that a third-party app inadvertently impacted users ability to open any Microsoft 365 app under specific circumstances. The third-party app has taken steps to resolve the issue.
