Work continues through the night on the e-mail situation

Faculty/Staff E-Mail Update

Work on this matter is continuing by on-site staff.  There is still no ETA that can be given at this time.  This is priority one at this moment.

Weblink Back Up

Weblink access is online and exclusively available for faculty grade submissions.

Main email offline

The university main email server, mail.udmercy.edu, is currently offline. ITS staff is working to resolve the issue.

Incoming Internet E-Mail Update

The problems that have been experienced over the past several days appear to be resolved.  We will continue to monitor the situation closely.  Technically, a flood of incoming e-mail overwhelmed our system which led us to throttle acceptance of messages.  Throttling remains on.  Sites that pummel e-mail at us all day long may notice this adjustment.

Apecs and Weblink are up - 1PM Thursday

There was a large job running this morning that was consuming 90% of the CPU. This may be related to the fact that the mainframe is still having residual hardware issues. The job was reset and Apecs/Weblink became available. Unisys will be on site today and this may require a reboot depending on what part needs replacement. Thank you, ITS Department.

We are continuing to work with the vendor of our SPAM solution to resolve the delayed e-mail delivery situation.  There are periods of delay that we are looking to eliminate.

Internet incoming e-mail has had some issues throughout the day.  The system is processing messages but there is occasional issues that pop up.  We continue to monitor and test possible solutions.

Incoming Mail Issue

Mailborder does not appear to be processing incoming messages.  We are working to restore services as quickly as possible.  Logs indicate problem started around 5:30 am.  Internal messages appear to be processing fine.

APECS and Weblink are back up 6:35 PM

The Unisys mainframe has some hardware issues that will need to be addressed on Monday of next week. These issues prevent us from being able to print reports. The Apecs and Weblink system have been brought back up and will be available throughout the weekend. On Monday we expect the Unisys rep to be on site and it may be neccessary to bring the machine down at that time. Every effort will be made to avoid this if possible. Weblink Up at 8:11 AM

Pipeserver received an automatic update last night and was not completely ready this morning until the administrator signed in. This server communicates between the mainframe and weblink. Sorry for the delay, ITS Department.

Wireless Internet has been restored

Wirelss Internet

The wireless internet is not working. There is currently a problem with the DNS server on the wireless network.

12/5 9:00 Exchange up and running for all

The Microsoft Exchange Server has been restored fully. It had been down for some Exchange Email users.

Exchange E-mail server Web Access not available 12/05 8:00 a.m.

Web access is not available for users of Exchange E-mail services.

ITS is working to fix the problem.
