Knowledge2 available 07/30 11:30 a.m.

Blackboard system running on is on line and available to users. Users may notice somewhat lower performance compared to previous experience, while accessing this system. We appreciate your patience.


Knowledge2 goes offline 07/30 at 9:00 a.m.

Knowledge2 Blackboard system is going to be taken offline at 9:00 a.m. and transferred to new hardware platform as a part of preparations on moving to Blackboard Enterprise system.
Users are advised to finish their work and log out before 9:00 a.m. in order to avoid possible loss of work.
Knowledge2 is expected to go online around 12:00 p.m. System availability will be announced in blogger.

TurnItIn Restored

Licensing for TurnItIn was restore around 3:00 pm today.  All should work as it normally should.


TurnItIn Temporarily in Read-Only Mode

We are experiencing a similar issue to that from two weeks ago with UDM’s TurnItIn service.  We are working with the vendor to clear the issue and hope to have this resolved within hours.



Knowledge 2 (Blackboard 9.1) planned service outage on July 30, 9:00 a.m.

In course of preparations to move Blackboard system to Enterprise Version, service on (Blackboard 9.1) will be interrupted on Friday, July 30; at 9:00 a.m. Service will be restored later on that day. Expected service outage time is 3 hours. All users using knowledge2 services are advised to finish their work and close open sessions before 9:00 a.m.
Service on (Blackboard 8) is not going to be affected by this operation.

TITANNET/Exchange Connectivity Restored...

Maintenance for the TITANNET/Exchange environment has been completed. We were able to restore functionality, but minor outages may still occur as we transisiton over to the new equipment.


Reminder - TitanNet/Exchange Maintenance Scheduled for 5:00 pm Today

Reminder - Today, UDM’s TitanNet (not TitanConnect) Windows domain environment will be brought down for maintenance starting at 5:00 pm.  All users should be logged off by that time.  We anticipate TitanNet and its related services will return to full operation by 8:00 pm that evening.  Information about the work will be posted to the UDM ITS Outage Blog at


During this time, access to the TitanConnect Portal/Email system will remain fully functional.


Users will not be able to access their TitanNet home or group drives from their desktop computers or remote connections.  Exchange users will be able to continue to use their Outlook client to read and write messages however all incoming and outgoing messages will be queued.


Users who do not access the TitanNet system (i.e. Law School) will not be affected in any way by this short outage.

Web access to TitanNet exchange e-mail is not accepting log-ins at this time. We expect to have this service restored very soon.

E-mail system fully operational 07/13 9:00 a.m.

Problem with incoming e-mail traffic is diagnosed and fixed. All of the e-mail is delivered to recipients at this time.

Incoming E-mail issues 07/13 7:30 a.m.

E-mails coming from outside our network are not reaching recipients in timely manner. ITS is working to diagnose and fix this issue. E-mail traffic within UDMERCY is not affected by this problem.

Update on the SPAM upgrade

As of this morning, users can log into their junk boxes.  There are a few remaining issues the vendor’s technical support is working through to complete this project.  One of those items is the ability for individual users to add their own people and companies to personal allowed list.

E-mail/SPAM Upgrade In Progress

As previously announced, incoming e-mail is temporarily being queued until an upgrade of the e-mail and SPAM solution is complete. Intracampus mail should be processing fine as well as any mail that is being sent beyond the domain.

Exchange Outages

Some Exchange and BlackBerry users are experiencing service outages on a regular basis. During this time messages are not received or sent. We are aware of the problem, and we are taking steps to correct it. If you are seeing periods of Exchange down-time, please let us know when you find the system not sending or receiving. All messages are queued, so delivery is made for all after the system is reconnected.

SPAM Upgrade 7/8/2010 @ 2pm

Starting at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 8, 2010, UDM's Mailborder SPAM solution will be upgraded. This upgrade will involve queueing of incoming e-mail while the system is worked on. We anticipate this may up to three hours of time.
