Blackboard Short Outage – Monday, Mar. 17 starting at 7:30 a.m.



We received additional software fixes for our Blackboard server. To apply those, Blackboard application has to be shutdown, resulting in service outage.

Please close your work and log out of Blackboard before 7:30 a.m. on Monday, March 17. We expect outage to last up to 30 minutes. Please check this blog and Blackboard announcements for possible updates related to this action.

We apologize for inconvenience this outage may cause to Blackboard users.

TitanConnect Portal Maintenance - Friday March 14th

Installation of software patch is performed and Blackboard service is available to users. As a consequence of this action, students and instructors can open and execute due tests/quizzes.

Blackboard test invoking issue – Fix available / Installation scheduled for Thursday Mar.13 at 7:30 a.m.



As previously published here, new version of Blackboard software causes system error at the attempt to start a test/quiz. We received software fix for this problem which we plan on installing on Thursday, March 13, starting at 7:30 a.m. This operation requires Blackboard restart resulting in service outage. Expected outage time is up to 30 minutes. Please close your session and log out to avoid possible loss of work before 7:30 a.m.

We are aware that this fix has deficiencies which still have to be addressed by Bb Tech Support. As usual, for all problems with Blackboard please contact IDS at 313-578-0580 for immediate help or open a ticket at http://helpdesk.udmercy.edu.

Blackboard problem fix - postponed



Despite Blackboard efforts and promising indications, we still don’t have software fix to the problem in taking Blackboard tests. This software fix will be applied as soon as we get it from Blackboard – please continue to observe this blog and Blackboard announcements for updates and development on this situation.

UDMSecure WIreless Issue

UDMSecure wireless is not currently resolving udmercy.edu domains.  Access to udmercy.edu sites and services is affected.  Please check this blogs for updates.

Issue with Blackboard testing – possible short Blackboard outage on Wednesday Mar. 12 starting at 7:30 a.m.



As published in the Blackboard announcement, we have test invoking problem in our Blackboard service since upgrade to new release of the software. Blackboard Tech Support is still working on the solution and they informed us that the fix may be ready for installation as soon as Wednesday morning. We still expect confirmation that this fix is developed and tested.

Having in mind that problem with invoking test causes lot of trouble to our students and faculty and impacts predefined schedule, we’d like to install this software patch as soon as we get it.

Please continue to follow Blackboard announcements and this site for the latest updates. Installation of the software fix requires Blackboard services shutdown as usual and, if we get that fix in time, we plan on applying it Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. with expected service outage up to 30 minutes. To make your work safe, please close your session and log out of Blackboard before 7:30 a.m.

TitanConnect Portal Maintenance - Thursday March 6th

Please be advised, between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. on Thursday March 6th, TitanConnect portal services will be unavailable due to system maintenance.  Access to email via clients other than the TitanConnect portal will not be affected.
