Scheduled Power Outage

Please be advised all IT services on the MCN campus will be brought down this morning while the facilities dept makes adjustments to the campus electrical feed.  Once the outage is clear, all services will be restored except the cf podiums which will remain offline until we return in January.

We anticipate core services back online by 8:30 am and all other services by 11:00 am.

Blackboard upgrade scheduled – Monday, Dec. 22 at 7:30 a.m.

Blackboard software upgrade is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 22 with the start at 7:30 a.m. Expected service outage is 2 hours.

Please don’t plan on using Blackboard in scheduled upgrade time, 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. If you are using Blackboard on Monday morning, please close your session and log out by 7:30 a.m. to prevent possible loss of data.

McNichols Campus Power Outage - Systems Brought Offline

Just a quick reminder that due to the scheduled power outage non-critical systems will be brought down on Wednesday and critical systems will start to come offline at 6:00 am.  Once power has been provided to the Fisher building, ITS will begin the process to restore access to services.  This may take up to 3 hours to fully complete.


Please note all podiums will be offline and may remain offline until we return in 2015.

Major Upgrade to the TitanConnect Reporting Database System

The data loads are continuing, with the Student load running through the evening and then the Finance load starting right after that.  We will inform people as each system becomes available.

12/09/14 - There have been issues with the loading of Finance data to the ODS. At this time there is no ET for the resolutions. Once an assessment of the issues are completed more posts will be forth coming.

14:30 status
Finance data load is progressing.

Reviewing possible performance enhancements as the loads are running slowly.

18:25 status
Finance data is still loading - working with vendor support for solutions.


3:00 status -  Financial data load has completed
 Note:  MFT_FUND_HIERARCHY_FISCAL error during load, and trouble ticket is open.

6:42 status - General data load has completed
Human resources has started.

10:00 - ODS Prod access to Discoverer has been restored
NOTE: DATA HAS ONLY BEEN PARTIALLY LOADED but reporting on Student and Finance is available.

14:10 - HR data has loaded
THE DATABASE WILL NOW BE TAKEN OFF LINE to apply performance and patch fixes.

15:40 - The patches have been applied. The MFT_FUND_HIERARCHY_FISCAL which failed during the Financial data load is being rerun.


7:00 - Financial Aid is Loading - should be completed before noon
This is the last data load.

10:50 - Financial Aid data is loaded.

4:00 p.m. - All data has been loaded and is now available for reporting.  Be cautious and check out the data.  Some load issues have been reported with Student and Finance and are being addressed as ITS is informed.

Major Upgrade to the TitanConnect Reporting Database System

The upgrade has been progressing, and is now in the "Load Data" step.  This was attempted earlier, but disk space problems kept it from finishing.  We are now past the point where the error occurred and are optimistic that this time it will complete successfully.  An update will be added to the Blog before the end of business today, December 8, 2014.

A major upgrade to the TitanConnect Reporting Database system, the Operational Data Store (ODS) will begin after normal business hours today, December 3, 2014 (at approximately 6:00 p.m.).

This upgrade will take UDM from version 8.1 to version 8.4.1 and necessitates a complete reload of data from the TitanConnect production database to the ODS. 

The upgrade and reload will take 4 - 5 days to complete, so the TitanConnect Report Viewer and TitanConnect Report Writer will not be available for use until Sunday, December 7 and may not be available until sometime Monday, December 8.

A notice will be posted on the UDM Blog, as will the availability of the TitanConnect Reporting system when the upgrade is completed.
