All systems operational

To the best of our knowledge, all systems are operational.


Residence Halls Slowness - Facebook

We have learned but have been unable to confirm that resident users are experiencing extreme slowness when using Facebook.  We know this is an important site for all and are looking for more information on the problem and a solution.


If you are experiencing such a problem, please let us know.


We understand access to all other sites is fine (with the exception of the P2P type sites).  If you are having problems with other sites, please let us know.

All systems operational

To the best of our knowledge, all systems are presently updated.


We are very interested in feedback from our residence students who should be benefiting from some major network changes that took place this past Monday where all available internet bandwidth is now being shared equally and fairly by all active connections.

E-mail in queues fully processed

All e-mail that has been sitting in the incoming queue has now been fully processed and the queue is empty.


Hourly UDM received approximately 20,000 to 30,000 messages per hour.  Of those messages, 90% are SPAM.  Of the remaining messages, approximately 60% are for students and 40% for administration.  Of the 60% for students, 10% of those are from facebook providing facebook subscribers info about activities on their profile.

E-Mail Backed Up

We continue to process incoming mail about an hour behind schedule.  A significant volume of mail is coming in and our queues are processing through the load.

Weblink is Online at 8:20 AM

Weblink is available now.

Apecs is Up, Weblink will be up very soon

A backup was still running this morning which prevented the normal startup of Apecs/Weblink. I am working to correct this. SHamilton, ITS Dept.

E-Mail Queue Backed up 40,000 msgs

Presently, we have about 40,000 msgs in the queue.  These should be delivered within the next two hours.

Some locations in the halls have been experiencing some outages.  ITS staff have been looking into the matter for the past hour and are working to bring everything back online.

E-mail backed up

We experienced a huge amount of incoming e-mail over the weekend, primarily spam, that has backed up our queues. The e-mail is continuing to be processed through. You may find you receive new messages before older ones as new ones will sometimes pass the queue and go straight to delivery. This morning there is about 180,000 messages of which it is fair to say 10% are legit.

Internet Access Restored

Internet access was restored around 12:00 pm. E-mail is still flowing slowly.

Internet Access Sluggish

Connectivity in and out appears to be very sluggish at this time. Staff are working to bring it back up as quickly as possible.

E-mail delivery backed up

The mail system is backed up several hours but is in the process of catching up.  All mail should be delivered within the next several hours.
