Details

Title: First time users can't access Outlook on the web

User Impact: Users may have experienced timeouts or errors when attempting to access Outlook on the web for the first time.

More info: Impact was limited to users signing in to Outlook on the web for the first time. Users who had previously signed in weren't affected.

Start time: Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 2:07 PM UTC

End time: Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 6:39 PM UTC

Root cause: A service update deployment had caused processing inefficiencies within the deploying environments, resulting in impact.

Next steps:

- We're reviewing our service update procedures to identify similar deployment and availability issues during our development and testing cycles.

This is the final update for the event.
