Blackboard system upgrade - Tue 12/20 07:30 a.m.

This is advance notice that Blackboard system software is scheduled for upgrade, starting 07:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20.
This software upgrade is going to cause outage in services, expected to take up to 120 minutes. Users are strongly advised to close their work and log out of Blackboard before 7:30 a.m. to avoid possible loss of data.

If access to Blackboard returns SSL error...

If you are using TitanConnect portal to access Blackboard or your bookmark points to https://knowledge.udmercy.edu, you may experience error saying that Blackboard Security Certificate is revoked. This issue is going to be fixed with planned restart of Blackboard services tomorrow morning. In meantime, please use direct access to Blackboard using following link: http://knowledge.udmercy.edu. Microsoft Internet Explorer does not produce this error.

Blackboard service restart scheduled 12/15 7:30 a.m.

Today we experienced problem with our Security Certificate. We acquired and installed new certificate but, to activate new credentials, Blackboard service need a restart. This is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 a.m. While this restart will cause just a brief service outage, users are still advised to close the session with Blackboard at that time to avoid possible loss of data.

We apologize for possible inconvenience this may cause.

E-mail and TitanConnect services have been restored.

E-mail, TitanConnect Tempory Outage

An SSL Certificate Issue has currently disabled SSL connections to E-mail (POP3, IMAP) and the TitanConnect portal. Service will be restored shortly.

Resident Network Operating Very Slowly

We're dealing with another unplanned resident bandwidth issue again that may be the source of the comments below. We understand it is Exam week - this is going to suck tonight - but you have options to use the labs and other university WIFI bandwidth around campus. The provider will be out first thing in the AM to repair the situation. We'll see if we can resolve it before then but as it stands now were operating at 20% of the capacity we had been at.

TitanConnect SSL Upgrades Completed

The announced security certificate upgrades to the TitanConnect portal have been completed.

If you use older versions of client software, older operating systems or have a session active during the upgrade you may asked you to confirm the installation of the new SSL certificate. Please confirm/accept the installation of the new SSL certificate.

Exchange Server - BlackBerry

The ongoing Exchange Email server issue is definitely affecting our BlackBerry users in Athletics. In addition to mail being delayed significantly, CONTACTS are disappearing from your BlackBerry devices. All reports so far say that in MICROSOFT OUTLOOK on the office computers, contacts are still there. If you need help logging into Titannet on your office computer, please contact the Helpdesk.

Library WIFI Reported Down

It has been reported that WIFI services in the library are down.  ITS will investigate the issue on Thursday.

 

Issues Report with Blackboard and TC connectivity from the dorms

ITS is investigating some sporatic connectivity issues to .udmercy.edu sites from the dorms.  It is reported connectivity to other sites is fine.

Users of Dorm Network have experienced short outage in Internet access which was quickly resolved.

Email Exchange Outage

We are currently experiencing Email Exchange outage. The ITS department is currently working on correcting the issue. The blog will be updated once the problem is resolved

SSL Certificate Upgrades

The SSL certificate replacement was started this morning on TitanConnect(http://tc.udmercy.edu) services. Http(web), ldap(directory) and secure POP3(mail) services have been upgraded. If you use older versions of client software, older operating systems or have a long running sessions that was active during the upgrade you may asked you to confirm the installation of the new SSL certificate. Please confirm/accept the installation of the new SSL certificate.

All other services will be upgraded tomorrow, December 8th.

Dorm Connectivity to Internet Unstable

We are investigating connectivity issues between the Campus dorms and the network that started around 11:00 am this morning. More detail as available.

Law Connectivity to Internet and McNichols Unstable

We are investigating connectivity issues between the Law School and the network that started around 7:00 am this morning.  More detail as available.
