All systems operational - request for comment on dorm bandwidth

All systems are operational at this time.  If you are a resident user, ITS would appreciate your comments on bandwidth performance over the past 24 hours.  Changes were implemented that should show improvement in some areas.  We would like to know what is working better than before and what is not working or working poorer than before.

Is the Holden internet down? I can't access it.

Whatever you changed, please go back to how it was. My internet was down from 10 last night and most of today. Ethernet cable won't get ANYTHING in North Quad; it overrides even the wireless. udmw and dormw are both slower than ever and they only work on and off.
Please change it back!

I have had no internet in Shiple all day today and for most of last night.

Shiple user: Is that no internet via WIFI or wired or both WIFI and wired?

Whatever you did made the access for internet in dorms local only. Internet is out for all residents, but can still use Instant Messaging programs, such as AIM and Skype. Outlook also works, but no web browsing what soever. Please fix soon, its been 24 hours already without internet.

Issue was resolved this morning. Sorry to all who suffered from late Saturday night to 7:30 am this morning.

The nature of the issue had to do with a cache server service failing around 10:00 pm Saturday night. It held all port 80 http/https traffic up.

The network team is looking to further prevent this from happening in the future.
