Blackboard Down - Transition to New Solution Underway

As mentioned several times in prior email communications, the University is transitioning to a new version of Blackboard.  This process is expected to take until 12/24/18 to complete.  Updates on the progress will be shared on this blog.

We appreciate your patience as we have limped the existing Blackboard to its finish line after a series of system crashes.

We have received noticed from Blackboard that the transition is continuing to go well and remains on-time.

Blackboard is available again at http://blackboard.udmercy.edu.

You should still log in using your Titan Pass credentials. When you do log in, you'll find all your courses, content, and student participation information still there (we will begin deleting courses more than 4 years old on January 5). The tools you've grown accustomed to using are still there, in the same place.

New courses (and accounts) won't be appearing over the break. That piece is still being worked on.

There are a few changes, however. Once you've logged in, you'll notice the site looks a little different – particularly if you're on a mobile device or narrowed browser window. We're using an adaptive layout, a layout that changes dynamically depending on the width of your browser window, which makes the site much more usable on tablets and phones.

To make this mobile layout more usable, we've rearranged your My Blackboard page, putting your My COURSES box on the left and the TOOLS box on the right. This puts MY COURSES at the top, rather than the bottom, of a mobile view.
