Title: Any user that enters into offline mode in Microsoft Teams is unable to move back to online mode

User Impact: Users are unable to return to online mode in Microsoft Teams after entering into offline mode.

More info: Affected users would see the message banner indicating that they were in offline mode. Users may have entered an offline state due to a network connectivity issue or by manually selecting to enter offline mode.

Final status: We've confirmed via service monitoring that our fix has prevented further impact from occurring, and that our partial reversion of the offending build and fix deployment have remediated user issues returning to online mode.

Scope of impact: Your organization was affected by this event, and this could impact any of your users that have entered offline mode.

End time: Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 12:30 AM UTC

Root cause: A recent update introduced an issue in which users that entered offline mode in Microsoft Teams were unable to return to online mode.
