Details

Title: On-Premise Cloud Cache (OPCC) users served on affected infrastructure can't sync with the Outlook mobile app

User Impact: Users may be unable to sync messages with the Outlook mobile app if the mailbox is hosted on-premises.

Current status: We've identified a recent update exposed a code regression that is causing the Sent Items folder for On-Premise Cloud Cache (OPCC) users to grow inorganically, resulting in the mailbox reaching the quota limit and users being unable to sync in the Outlook mobile app. We halted the update to prevent further impact, and we're working on a fix intended to relieve syncs and mitigate impact.

Scope of impact: This issue only impacts users hosted on infrastructure where the regression was deployed. All other users would not be impacted.

Start time: Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 8:00 PM UTC

Root cause: A recent update exposed a code regression that is causing the Sent Items folder for On-Premise Cloud Cache (OPCC) users to grow inorganically, resulting in the mailbox reaching the quota limit and users being unable to sync in the Outlook mobile app.
